Helvetica Re Rückversicherung AG Corporation is pleased to announce that AM Best has affirmed its Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent), with a stable outlook.
This reaffirmation highlights AM Best’s continued confidence in Helvetica Re’s robust capitalization and prudent risk management practices.
According to the rating agency, Helvetica Re’s balance sheet strength remains at the strongest level, supported by a conservative investment strategy, a well-structured reinsurance program, and low underwriting leverage.
Since its inception in 2022, Helvetica Re has continued to expand its portfolio, focusing on surety business for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. The company’s preliminary financial results show sustained profitability, with a net income of USD 8.7 million in 2024, overcoming USD 2.3 million in 2022.
While acknowledging the challenges of operating in a competitive market and the company’s concentration in a single business line, AM Best notes that Helvetica Re’s steady growth, controlled claims, and investment income position it for further positive performance in the short term.
The reaffirmed ratings are a testament to Helvetica Re’s commitment to maintaining sound financial practices and delivering long-term value to its stakeholders as it continues its geographic expansion, particularly in Latin America.
